Russia Dominates Group AA Final

The Group from Russia dominated with both the 5 Clubs and 5 Hoops and won the Youth Olympic Games All Around title by a massive 2.500 points over the Group from Bulgaria. The Group from Kazakhstan picked up the bronze medal over Uzbekistan.

Annenkova is YOG All Around Champion

Russian Irina Annenkova once again top scored with the Hoop, Ball and Clubs on her way to winning the Youth Olympic Games Individual All Around title. Maryia Trubach of Belarus managed to hold off American Laura Yihan Zeng by 0.200 points to capture the silver medal. Ana Luiza Filiorianu of Romania finished in fourth after scoring the top mark with the Ribbon.

Day 2 - Event Finals at Youth Olympic Games

Finally catching up on some results from the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.... the final day of event finals for Artistic Gymnastics. Great Britain's Giarnni Regini-Moran won the Vault title over China's MA Yue and Russian Nikita Nagornyy. Nagornyy narrowly earned the Parallel Bars honors over Hungarian Botond Kardos and Regini-Moran. Kenya Yuasa of Japan won the Horizontal Bar title with Belgian Luka Van Den Keybus in second and Regini-Moran adding another bronze medal to his name. Regini-Moran's higher execution score meant that he earned the bronze on the Horizontal Bar despite having the same score as Frenchman Zachari Hrimeche. China's WANG Yan was the Balance Beam champion over Brazil's Flavia Lopes Saraiva and Great Britain's Elissa Downie whist Lopes Saraiva triumphed on the Floor Exercise with Russian Seda Tutkhalyan and Downie finishing in second and third respectively.

Annenkova Tops Individual AA Quals; Russia tops Groups Quals

The Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games is underway at the Nanjing Olympics Sport Center Gymnasium. Irina Annenkova of Russia top scored on the Hoop, Ball and Ribbon on the way to topping the Individual All Around Qualification. Laura Yihan Zeng of the United States finished second in the All Around standings and was the top performer with the Ribbon. Belarussian Maryia Trubach was third in the All Around. The top eight in the All Around qualification move onto today's All Around Final.

The Group from Russia consisting of Daria Anenkova, Daria Dubova, Victoria Ilina, Natalia Safonova and Sofya Skomorokh dominated in the Group All Around qualification. The Groups from Bulgaria (Elena Bineva, Aleksandra Mitrovich, Emiliya Radicheva, Sofiya Rangelova and Gabriela Stefanova) and Uzbekistan (Sabrina Ramazanova, Gyuzal Raymanova, Komilabonu Rustamova, Irina Saleh and Karina Tagaeva) were second and third in the Qualification and move onto the Groups All Around final. Also advancing is the Group from Kazakhstan (Viktoriya Guslyakova, Amina Kozhakhat, Nuray Kumarova, Darya Medvedeva and Aliya Moldakhmetova).

Hano Named to Senior Pan Am Champs Team

Felicia Hano of Gym-Max Gymnastics was added to the U.S. Women's Senior National Squad on Sunday and has been named to the Senior Pan American Championships team. Hano comes onto the Pan American Championships team as a replacement for WOGA Gymnast Alyssa Baumann who withdrew due to an elbow hyperextension injury.

Senior MAG - Day Two P&G Champs

Kevin Wolting (University of California-Berkeley) did not compete in today's competition and neither did Steven Legendre (University of Oklahoma/Team Hilton HHonors), the latter suffering an abdominal tear whilst competing on the Floor Exercise on the first day of competing. All the best to him for a speedy recovery. Samuel Mikulak (University of Michigan/Team Hilton HHonors) won his second consecutive All Around title, having a sensational second day of competition! John Orozco (U.S. Olympic Training Center/Team Hilton HHonors) was second with Jacob Dalton (University of Oklahoma/Team Hilton HHonors) finishing in third. Dalton took out the Floor Exercise title over Eddie Penev (Stanford University/Team Hilton HHonors) and Paul Ruggeri III (U.S. Olympic Training Center/Team Hilton HHonors), whilst on the Pommel Horse, Mikulak earned the title over Alexander Naddour (USA Youth Fitness Center/Team Hilton HHonors) and Ellis Mannon (University of Minnesota). Brandon Wynn of the U.S. Olympic Training Center/Team Hilton HHonors triumphed on his pet event - the Still Rings. Donnell Whittenburg (U.S. Olympic Training Center/Team Hilton HHonors) and C.J. Maestas (University of Illinois-Champaign) were second and third respectively. Whittenburg, Ruggeri III and Penev were the top scorers on the Vault. Danell Leyva of Universal Gymnastics/Team Hilton HHonors dominated on the Parallel Bars over Jonathan Horton (Cypress Academy of Gymnastics/Team Hilton HHonors) and Dalton who tied for second place. Orozco dominated on the Horizontal Bar with Mikulak and Ruggeri III finishing in second and third respectively.
