Day One Finals from Varna World Challenge Cup

Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev took the titles on the Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse and finished second on the Still Rings on the first day of Event Finals at the 2016 Varna World Challenge Cup. The competition is taking place at the Kongresna Hall in the Palace of Culture and Sports near the Black Sea in Varna, Bulgaria. Switzerland's Giulia Steingruber dominated on the Vault during the Final after scoring a massive 15.500 for her first Vault (6.2 D Score, 9.3 E Score). Vietnam's PHAN Thi Ha Thanh was second with Poland's Katarzyna Jurkowska-Kowalska finishing in third. Austrian Lisa Ecker replaced Brazil's Thauany Lee de Araujo in the final. Russian Daria Skrypnik topped the Uneven Bars final by a full point over compatriot Evgeniia Shelgunova, with Steingruber winning the bronze. Verniaiev took the Floor Exercise honors by 0.167 points over Slovenia's Rok Klavora with top qualifier Dominick Adam Cunningham of Great Britain finishing in third place. Croatia's Robert Seligman and Frenchman Cyril Tommasone tied for second place on the Pommel Horse with Ukraine's Igor Radivilov taking out the Still Rings honor over Verniaiev and Russia's Daniil Kazachkov.
